Known as "the Irish pub in the hills", the Jarrahdale Tavern is a superb spot to visit on a day trip from Perth, especially if you have English or Irish visitors in tow.
Owner Joan Peyton, an Irish lass herself, goes out of her way to welcome her visitors and make them feel welcome in true Irish hospitality style.
Located on one of the highest points in the area, the pub overlooks the beautiful jarrah forest and is surrounded by two big verandas with a picturesque beer garden. The original structure dates back to 1894 and has been refurbished whilst retaining its original charm.
Inside, the walls are graced with plenty of Irish memorabilia including artwork, old coins and the 'Irish Man's Philosophy'; a must read with a pint of Guinness in your hand.
There are plenty of beers on tap including a couple from Ireland, as you may have guessed, and the food doesn't stop until Joan's customers say so.
