2012 WINNER ANNOUNCED!

Congratulations to the winner, Chef Michael King from the Bridgetown Hotel!

The five finalists competed in the 2012 Steak Sandwich grand final cook-off at Hospitality Expo 2012, Burswood Entertainment Complex at 2pm on Wednesday 2 May, hosted by The Australian Hotels Association (WA), Tourism WA and Lion Nathan- James Squire.

The industry and celebrity judging panel included Rockpool Head Chef Dan Masters, AHA President Neil Randall, Lion Field Sales Manager Jamie Ryan and ABC Radio's Geoff Hutchinson. It was a tough decision for the panel as they sample the 5 different steak sandwiches, washing the flavours down with James Squire's 150 Lashes.

The panel crowned The Bridgetown Hotel as the overall winner of the title ‘2012 WA’s Best Country Pub Steak Sandwich’. Chef Michael King won the panel and the crowd over with his sandwich featuring lettuce, tomato and a piece of prime Bridgetown steak, sandwiched between a toasted baguette.
